Teaching console
Run a course class through the semester: attendance, seating, grading with verification, rubric assessment, surveys and the course portfolio.
Teaching lists the course classes assigned to you for the selected term. Open a class to reach its console, whose inner menu is grouped into Current, AOL Assessment and Other.
General info and course plan
Read-only copies of the approved syllabus. Set course outcome and Import plan are available if the syllabus is still editable.
Attendance
- Attendance shows one column per session. Mark present, absent, excused or late per student, or accept the RFID taps recorded for the room (see Attendance & RFID).
- Attendance summary and Participating summary total the term per student.
- Seating & participating displays the room's seat map. Drag students to seats and record participation marks by seat. Allocate new students places late enrollees.
Grading
- Open Grading. Columns follow the grading components in the approved grading policy.
- Enter marks directly or Import from the Excel template.
- Click Verify to check totals against the weights and thresholds. Rows with problems are highlighted.
- Click Finalize. Finalized grades are visible to students and locked; an administrator can reopen them. Discard changes reverts unsaved edits.
Grading component management lets the lecturer add sub-components (for example three quizzes under Quizzes) as long as the policy weights are preserved.
Learning assessment (Assurance of Learning)
For classes selected in the AoL sampling plan:
- Assign assessors to the class.
- Assessors score sampled student work against the rubric for each learning-objective trait.
- Assessment recapitulation summarises results per trait and offers Print for the evidence file.
- Assessment review lets the AoL team check scoring before it is aggregated.
- The AOL Assessment tab syncs results to the AoL module and offers Import for scores collected outside Sivitas.
See Assurance of Learning for the full cycle.
QA survey result
Student evaluation results for this class, split into curriculum questions, learning-objective questions and teaching evaluation. Available once the survey window closes. See QA survey.
