Audit trail

An institution-wide log of who created, changed or deleted which record, when and from which address.

Every create, update and delete on audited entities is recorded with the acting user, timestamp, IP address and the before-and-after values.

Search

Filter by event type (created, updated, deleted), entity type, entity ID, user, free text within the changed values, and a date range. Results are listed in a table; open a row to see the full change detail.

Common uses

• Find who unlocked a term or changed a grade after finalization.
• Show an accreditation reviewer that a table's figures have not been altered since submission.
• Trace a publish or force-publish of a timetable draft.

Retention

Audit records are kept indefinitely by default. Your administrator can archive older records at the database level; see Deployment.
